Required:
High School Degree or GED.
Preferred:
Vocational schooling in electronics technology, or min.
2 years in a similar field Licensing/Registration/Certification Required:
Valid Driver's License, must be bondable.
Preferred:
Commercial Driver's License Experience Required:
2-3 years field experience in a similar industry.
Proficiency in various device programming & use of computers.
Preferred:
Two to five years installation and service experience.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Significant knowledge of electronic and trouble shooting.
Demonstrated capability of reading and understanding drawings, specifications and manuals.
Basic understanding of digital meter use as well as other trouble shooting tools.
Physical Body Positions:
Sitting, standing, walking, stooping and climbing.
These are required both inside a building and outside on job sites, and in attics and crawl spaces.
Body Movements:
Walking, moving of materials, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting and climbing to involve the tasks of installation.
Lifting weight up to limit defined by State of Indiana or where ever the local regulations are applicable.
Climbing of ladders both inside and outside, step ladders and extension ladders, scaffolding and the use of wheeled lifts.
Body Senses:
Full use of vision and hearing in the communication with the Customer Service Coordinator, security operations manager and other contractors and helpers.
Mental Mathematical:
Basic math ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Language:
Ability to communicate in English both written and verbally, to communicate with the office or customer and fellow workers.
Mechanical:
Good to excellent mechanical abilities as they relate to electrical and mechanical installations, service and repair.
Working Conditions Primarily field work at job sites under the various weather conditions, both hot and cold.
Some job duties can be dirty and dusty.
TASKS AND DUTIES Uses foresight to assist the company in completing the job in the least amount of time and at the quality of highest possible workmanship.
Assure that proper safety procedures are followed on the job site.
Ensure that all work is completed in a craftsman like manner and to the satisfaction of the customer, and security manager to minimize callbacks, inspection and warranty problems.
Upon satisfactory completion of jobs obtain approval from the Customer Service Coordinator.
Daily safety, and stock of supplies checks for vehicles, equipment, ladders and power tools.
Assist in the verification that all company tools and equipment and left over material are accounted for.
Verify that all changes or modifications to job order or specification are communicated with the Customer Service Coordinator for clear understanding of the scope of changes.
Seeks guidance and direction as necessary for the performance of his duties.
Demonstrates good judgment in the analysis of problems connected to the job.
Maintains a cooperative working relationship with supervisor and other company personnel.
Makes the best use of time during the workday.
Consistently shows the ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
Performs all duties in an independent manner with little or no supervision.
Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned.
Always provides proper notification and advance notice of absences.
Reports to work on time each day, after lunch and breaks, does not leave early without prior authorization from the Customer Service Coordinator.
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
Assumes responsibility for staying aware of changes in company policies and procedures.
Keeps pace with advances and technological changes in the security industry, including certified continued education programs.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Customer Service Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate and coordinate all work with the Customer Service Coordinator and adhere to the company procedures.
Plan ahead and communicate material needs to Customer Service Coordinator.
Communicate any additional manpower needs to Customer Service Coordinator.
Communicate all significant job site information or obstacles to Customer Service Coordinator, including general safety hazards.
Communicate all additional equipment or tool needs to Customer Service Coordinator.
